Direct Services Intern

Description: This intern position is designed to provide hands-on experience with case management for survivors of human trafficking. Direct Services interns shadow and support TGH Case Managers in providing an array of services to clients, including: intake, case management meetings, life skills activities, volunteer coordination, and reporting.  The position is designed for those who can commit to 20-40 hrs/week for 10-12 weeks.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shadow intakes and assessments to determine client needs

  • Develop action plans with case managers and clients

  • Support survivors in their goals in the drop center and in the field

  • Comprehensive Record keeping for clients

  • Work directly with Direct Services Staff

Required Qualifications:

  • Background or pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling

  • Strong Case Management skills

  • Conversational Spanish or other language a plus

  • Previous experience with various ethnic groups

  • Has own laptop

  • Ability to work not only with survivor but also their families and community service providers

  • Ability to quickly understand and address emergencies and needs of survivors and their families
